The Rite of Spring is an environmental photograph consisting of twenty vertical panels of stretch cotton over aluminium tube frames. In order to view the twenty images one must enter the circle and go to the center and turn as the dancer had to turn to create the atheistic. Rite of Spring, the name of this piece, is based on a ballet created by Nijinsky. Nijinsky was the father of conceptual avant guard dance in the 20th century. And to me the greatest choreographer of the 20th century. Channel 11 will focus a program directed by Joseph Hauseal, October 2001. It will be filmed and featured on Channel 11, focusing on the Najinsky mystique. I am currently seeking an exhibition space to accommodate this circular, environmental photo with a 20 foot diameter which is where the film will made.
